Dinosaurs......

Dinosaurs have been the subject in our house lately; How did they become extinct?, Why did God make something he knew would be extinct?, Were they on the ark?, How old is the world?, and then the normal what they ate? What they looked like?. We took a trip to the Seattle Science Center with Madison's Kindergarten class at the beginning of the month. (see earlier blog) Grandy went through her toys and books and brought the girls a box of different kinds of Dinosaurs and a few books. The girls love this box and have played house and dolls with the dinosaurs. They remind me everyday how much their beloved cousin Hunter loves dinosaurs. They have yet to watch the movie "The Land Before Time", as we do not own it and I do not know anyone who does. Madison is also learning about them in school this month. In class they have a "pet" dinosaur "Sarah" and a dinosaur journal. Each day one of the students gets to take the journal and "Sarah" home for the night. Each child gets to draw a picture and answer a question. These questions included "How would you brush a dinosaurs teeth". It is very cute. Yesterday was finally the day we got to bring "Sarah" home and the journal. Madison's question was "How would you bring dinosaurs back to earth?". Madison's answer "I would bring dinosaurs back with my magic wand. I would make them small so they could fit in the kitty's house. I would play with them and then make them big". She drew a picture of herself holding a wand and Emma and Mommy were standing next to her. We had to take Sarah back today, but had to get one last picture for memory sake.

Mother's Day Lunch with Madison

Today the Kindergardeners put on a lunch at school for all the moms. They served us, set our places, made placemats, and made us gifts. They served us fruit salad, pasta salad, rolls, chocolate covered strawberries, and ice cream. It was very sweet. The little boy next to us kept asking us if we were "having a lovely time" and that he was "here to serve". It was very cute.

The Road to Auntie Catherine's Wedding

We are getting closer and closer to Auntie Catherine's Wedding. We went down to Tacoma last Saturday to try on our dresses and getting fitted. My sister is very brave and has six little girls in her wedding. It is very cute. We had so many kids in this corner room while we all tried to get fitted in our bridesmaids gowns. The kids did well considering we were in a dress shop for two and half hours. Here are some cute pictures and memories of the day.

Ups and Downs.....

Monday night I had a candle/fiesta party for people I know. One of my friends/co-workers is trying to earn extra money at Party Lite so I said I would host. It was loads of fun. I invited lots of different people, mix that with a pitcher of margaritas, some Mexican music, and festive food and you have a great party. My husband joined in the fun and Madison entertained the party goers. I was feeling pretty good about the evening and it was a great start to the week.
Tuesday I woke up in a funk (no it was not from the festivities the night before). I went to work and forgot to get a coffee on the way. Work was crazy every phone line was lighting up and my cell phone was going off for three straight hours. I also clicked on my in box and had received 34 emails in less than 24 hours. It just kept going. So sorry to those of you I have still to return calls to, I do care. I then began to get a sore throat. Things just got busier and busier and I got sicker and sicker. This was turning out to be a very crummy day...not the way I envisioned my week. I came home exhausted, sick, and knowing my hubby would not be home till 10 tonight. Madison was so sweet she crawled into my lap and said "mommy, we can watch your shows". And so I sat with my sweet daughter and watched "Jon and Kate plus 8". Then Emma came and sang me a song to make me feel better. They are the best kids I could ask for. So I am going to bed feeling very sick and very crummy, but very loved.

Garage Sale Fun!

Today marked the fifth year of doing a garage sale with the Brodeur Family. It usually starts early (this year 6:10 am). The day started with the "he-she" purchasing some cds and books. Every year we end up talking more than we actually sell. We then froze to death on the couch (that never sold) trying to sell our "treasures" (as Sasha so lovingly put it). We had boundless entertainment. The paper mache reindeer that we moved around the garage sale during the day, the $2 fan that everyone loved but just couldn't buy, the lady who went wild when she discovered we were selling a safari grocery bag, the little boy who stole a "Bear in the Big Blue House" movie and then tried to get outta paying full price, the endless men in overalls, and the endless laughs. Here are a few pictures for memories.
Madison saved up and bought this at the garage sale today.

Pacific Science Center Fun!!!

Thursday Madison's Kindergarten class went the Seattle Science Center. It was great because Emma was able to go and bring Laurel. We car pooled with Madison's favorite friend Maddy. It was great to get to know another mom and the Maddy's had fun watching "The little Mermaid" in the back of the van. My kids were very excited to see the Dinosaurs. This was the highlight.
